Greetings my dears, I am Nestra and my task is to inform you a little about houses, classes, and the beings on this site...including us, the spirits.
Special positions are also avalible here: Positions Board
Sign up to be a teacher, a ghost, a mythical being, a vampire and much much more...
Witches:
One of the most commonly found on Magie's Island. They are humans who are able to use magic and can see, hear, and touch magical beings, and are often followed by a magical animal called a guardian. Similar to students, only they've already graduated from Arcane, or a school like it.
Teachers:
They are the ones who give the younger generation an education. Currently, the Professors are the most powerful on the island next to the head mistress and master. They are respected and well loved, and very powerful. If you play one you have the burden of trying to basically raise hundreds of children. Schedules are tight and free time is little. You can use magic, up to ten spells between you and your guardian.
(Can be RPed but need to fill out an application.)
Students:
Another of the most common on the island. If you play a student you are on a tight schedule during the week days. Classes and grades are very important and getting bad grades means being thrown out of school. Your knowledge of magic is not as good as the adults. You start out at the school from age 12 to 18. You have seven years in school and depending on your age that is also your year of school. 12=1, 13=2, 14=3 and so on. You can have up to ten spells between you and your guardian.
(Can be RPed)
Shop Keepers:
They keep the shops running and have more free time than students or professors. They are adults who were once students and have decided to stay on the island so they can stay in the life they know. Since the world does not operate such as Harry Potter's world does, it's broken into covens and each coven has a leader. The shopkeepers have their own organized society among themselves and have their own little coven.
(Can be RPed, but must apply)
Citizens:
They are sometimes the parents of students or students freshly out of school. Some are even just others who have their business elsewhere and choose to stay on the island with their covens.
(Can be RPed.)
Staff:
They are other staff within the school such as librarians, ground keepers, watchmen, and so forth. They play an important role in the school and are also very powerful people.
(Can be RPed, but must be applied for.)
Shadow Coven:
They are students and adults who take it upon themselves to get revenge on the normal human population for the prosecution of witches in the past. They will stop at nothing to destroy anyone who gets in their way.
(can be RPed.)
Normals:
They are average humans who are absolutely oblivious to what is going on around them. They think all this magic and hocus pocus is just a silly superstitious thing. Others know about it and fear it, therefore they make it their goal to stop it. They can not hear nor see magical beings, but they can on occasion feel them which leads to the belief of ghosts, which also linger on the island but can only be seen by a few gifted 'normals'.
Clueless:
They are normal civilians who live on the island and have no idea of what is going on or may even just think it is all just hocus pocus. They can not see magical beings, nor can they see the guardians. However on occasion they can feel a guardian either in their mind or gut or physically.
(Can be RPed)
Hunters:
They know about witches and want to destroy them, thinking they are evil. They can not see nor can they hear magical beings but they have discovered devices that allow them to do just that. They all wear special glasses that allow them to see the magical beings, including guardians. Few are around, but they are very dangerous and fuel the hate inside the Shadow Coven.
(Playable by limit: Accepting.)
Shop Keepers:
Like the magical shop keepers they are just adults who are doing business.
(Can be RPed, but must apply.)
Guardians:
To the Witches they look like normal animals that walk beside them. They can only be animals that are smaller, the largest types being big cats or bears even. With the ability to use magic and to speak they are in a scene unable to die unless their ward dies. Only magical folk can see them and even then if they are not by their partner they are very elusive. Their one goal is to help guide their witch, like a conscience
(Can not be RPed)
Ghosts:
They are the undead, mostly see through but still look fairy human with the ability to pass through walls and float. They usually have a long history in the school, students who may have died or even famous people or the founders themselves. Some ghosts are friendly while others can be rather rude of borderline dangerous. They have iffy temperaments depending on how they died and are not able to leave the school grounds, or some the woods.
(playable but limited: Accepting)
Vampires:
Vampires are creatures of the night with super human strength, speed, and stealth but can use only little magic. They are hurt by sunlight and are near impossible to kill unless their head is severed. They must drink blood less they starve to death which is possible. You must have once been human or a witch and turned into a vampire by another vampire. If you were once a witch you only can have two natural born powers you originally had as a witch...and only three vampiric powers.
((Playable but limited: Accepting))
Werewolves:
To be a werewolf you must be born one. Werewolves unlike popular lore do not turn into giant beasts but are people who can turn into wolves. They are highly allergic to silver as well as monks root ((wolf bane)) and live in tight family groups known as packs. Some wolves may be loners but they are often times small and weak or cruel and insane.
((Playable but limited: Accepting))
Magical Beings:
Anything from fairies, gnomes, unicorns, dragons, and so forth. They can only be seen by magic folk and they do not live to serve anyone but themselves. However they are rather friendly and love to help if they can.
(Playable but limited: Accepting)
The Houses
The houses are the category or group the students are in. The house is decided by what kind of personality they have.
Silverwolf-
House Colors: Silver and Black
House Animal: Wolf
Head of House:
The good hearted and friendly house are loyal to the end. They are the overly social types who seem to like everyone and are liked by everyone. They are rarely cross or cruel and like to help out others as much as they can.
Ravenheart-
House Colors: Red and Black
House Animal: Raven
Head of House:
The wise house, they usually end up being the academic students of the month and professors seem to like them a lot. They are best with book work though lacking with actual power in magic. Some would see the Ravenheart house as snotty smart, goody toe shoes but they are actualy quite nice, if not sometimes a little too...know it all.
Dragoni-
House Colors: Green and Black
House Animal: Dragon
Head of House:
They are the most magically gifted and powerful house. They excel at all magic and act as if they were sent by some higher power. Not so socially gifted, they are snotty, vain, and self absorbed, but why would they care? They can use magic with ease. They generally only get alone with other Dragoni students.
Lionclaw-
House Colors: Gold and Black
House Animal: Lion
Head of House: Andrea James
They are the brave and noble house, everyone here is like the modern time white knight. They are pure-hearted and know the difference between right and wrong without question. They always want to help and seem as if they are good at everything. However they can be stubborn and will stop at nothing to do what they believe is right, even by breaking the rules or being rebels.
Piximinx-
House Colors: Purple and Black
House Animal: Minx (Ferret-like animal)
Head of House: Professor Felix (Mrs.)
They are the creative and energetic house. Free spirited people who live on creativity and art forms of all sorts. Known to sometimes be the odd balls and are mostly happy and slow to anger. They do tend to struggle in book work and see the world with a different flair.
