From the Garden of Eden and the Tree of Knowledge to the unified theory of physics human kind seems to have devoted much of their existence to the acquisition of knowledge -- as if it would lead to some universal truth. Be it to create or to destroy, men and women have spent entire life times trying to unravel the secrets to all that is.
But what if someone unlocked it? What if someone unlocked the doors, broke the codes, and solved the equations, what would be left for them? With that mystery, that curiosity, gone what would life hold for them -- happiness, bliss... Emptiness? In this world, there are some things better left unknown, for the sake of the individual, for the sake of the group, for the sake of mankind.
The world is a chaotic place full of uncertainty, but amid the turbid waves of ambiguity lies a small island, a small cluster of islands to be exact. Cut off from the general public by harsh winds and weather patterns, dangerous reefs, and violent currents, these Pacific islands know very few visitors. In fact, they are absent from all but the most detailed of maps and charts. These four islands, however, play host to a unique institution.
Librarium Pacifica, a name very few will hear even once, is a small school built upon the three-ring caldera that encircles a central island. Advertised as being only for the most "exceptionally talented" students, Librarium Pacifica acts as a haven for, still unacknowledged, post-humans. That is just the surface, though, and deep within the Librarium lies a hidden truth capable of bringing humanity to its knees, or raising it to unimaginable heights.
