Ever since the year 1943, the humans have known about us. They know we exist, they know our strengths and weaknesses. They know where we live, how we live, and how we survive. But most importantly, they know how to kill us.
But we know where they live, where they are hurt easily, and we know they know.
But who are we? I bet you're asking by now. We are from the world of The Night-Mist. The creatures of night: lycanthropes, vampires, wyccanlores, and shapeshifters. Who am I? Knia Mokicraft, the leader of these and the ruler of The Night-Mist. But that isn't important right now, for I shall soon be gone.
The humans are hunting us, the people of The Night-Mist. Although we are legally citizens, live in the open, there are bounties on us. We can't get jobs as easily as humans, for they are afraid of what they do not know, afraid of us. We can't vote or run for government, because they are afraid we shall overrun their government. But if a Hunter kills us, they get paid.
The Night-Mist must bond together. We must protect each of the others we find, and survive against the humans. Will you join us, or will you become a Hunter? it's your choice, and we'll hold you to it.
We the Night-Mist, do not beg. We are proud enough not to. But I beg of you, protect your fellows, and join the Night-Mist......
~ * ~ Nowadays ~ * ~
The message was found by the human president two years after the death of Miss Knia Mokicraft.
Nowadays, in the mid-twenty-second century, the Night-Mist are still struck by racism. But this racism is strongest in Dalesville, a medium sized town in New York State. Perhaps this is because Dalesville is situated close to the town of Damnsville, where the Night-Mist have set up their own community.
In current days, the Night-Mist was ruled by Sarima Bennet, a Shapeshifter. She has brought together a group of elite Night-Mist-ers and dubbed them the Watchers. The job of the Watchers is to protect those of the Night-Mist from bounty hunters hired to kill their kind. Mrs. Bennet died two years ago, leaving behind her daughter, Lizabella Maria Bennet, as the one in charge.
Now it is up to you. Are a person of the Night-Mist, living your life in fear of losing it? or are a bounty hunter, killing the creatures that have 'invaded' your home? Choose now, oh, and welcome to the Night-Mist.
