'MUTANT VIRUS*
[/color][/font][/center]Warren K. Worthington, Jr. father to Warren Worthington III had finally created a cure to relieve the human race of the “mutant problem”. And thus the feuding began between the humans and mutants once again. The first one to stand up against said cure was Warren’s own son, who now went by the name Archangel, refusing to share the same name as the man that wanted to destroy what he was. And so, he ran to hide within the mansion of Xaviers.
And so a new storm slowly began to brew. Many mutants saw this as their salvation, able to get rid of this curse that they were born with and finally live a normal life with their families and be safe from the riots that are forming up all over the state of New York. In front of the Worthington building lines grew as the more mutants seemed to find this as a good thing rather than a bad thing. But so did the protesters with their picket signs saying “No more cure”.
Slowly the riots grew more and more frequent and finally, The Avengers finally made themselves none to those around and quickly and without violence were able to break up and calm many of the towns and it seemed that things were calming down, but deep under ground a brotherhood was growing. Magneto has been recruiting like crazy, finding many that agree with him. That the species “home-superior” should inherit the earth. That the “homo-sapiens” aren’t good enough for such a wonderful place.
And so a finally the day came. The day of reckoning came and the brotherhood marched forward. Including the family of Magneto. Pietro and Wanda Maximoff marched by his side upon the bridge that he had used to create their path that would finish their Journey to salvation. Upon Alcatraz Island they were met by prepared Soldiers equipped with that of plastic weapons, unaffected by the abilities of Magneto, and so, many lost what they held close to them. But that was only the beginning.
Standing up for what they believed in, the X-Men arrived on the scene to attempt to stop the murder of an innocent boy that many saw as their downfall or their salvation. The name Jimmy or also known as Leech was held in the building behind the line of X-Men. And they were the only ones standing in the brotherhoods way. And so, the battle raged on. Mutant vs Mutant all because of a mutant. Irony it was, but Magneto didn’t care and it would soon be his down fall. After being ambushed and given the cure he went into hiding. As did his two children also attacked with the cure.
And so, mutant kind had won again. And seeing such a display, the cure had been given out to those that wished to have it, but never forcibly given to those that didn’t want it, and once again peace had taken over New York…for now.

For almost a year and a half life everything went on normally. But the school no longer needed to stay hidden. With the new found trust in the government Xavier was allowed to reveal that his school was not just for the educationally gifted. Many protested in front of the school, saying it should be closed down, and so the Avengers were once again called upon to quiet things down. Things weren’t as easy as last time. The humans seemed to be getting more and more violent with every protest, and so with a request from Xavier, a few Avenger members were asked to stay at the mansion for the students and teachers well being.
But this wasn’t the worst thing to happen. Deep in the heart of Atlantic City, NJ an old abandoned business building has been turned into “The Mutant Detention Center”. Where mutant criminals from all over the New England area are scent to be “Contained” and kepted under lock and key. But not to keep people everywhere safe. But to test something called XGDC. X-Gene Diminishing Chemical. A chemical that will eat away at the X-Gene imbedded in the DNA strand and kill the mutant in which ever way. It all depends upon the mutants powers. Usually causing the power to go against the welder and then they die a rather painful death.
And slowly its leaking into the public, mutants suddenly getting sick all around the NYC area and doctors are unable to explain what it is. Believing that it is an epidemic of a mutant virus attacking those that are positive dominant for the X-Gene. And so now NYC seems to be in a state of panic, unsure as to how people can contract the virus. All they know is its not through the air or water…so where?
